Solidarity from Bure, La Zad du Carnet and west of france

Disclaimer: The publication of this article was decided by one person/some people and not by the whole occupation. There is no authorised group and no official body that could decide upon an ‘official’ group statement for the occupation. The people in the occupation and in their immediate environment have diverse and controversial opinions. This diversity of different stances is therefore not censored here, but differing opinions can be equally valid and have an equal right to be seen and heard. No text will speak for the whole occupation or is necessarily approved by everyone participating in the occupation.

Here are the solidarity fotos and text in response with the call for
solidarity in french that you can find here

The first one is from Bure, the occupation against nuclear
installation in Eastern France :

Solidarity with Danni’s occupation !

Since more than a year, Danni forest (Germany) is occupied. The
compagny Deges wants to make the A49 longer, passing through Danni
forest. They have already cut 85 hectare of forest and since a month the
eviction of the forest is going on, with consequences such as people
felling from high, being injured, arrested, jailed, isolated for
refusing to give identity.

We are answering to the call out for solidarity, read on nantes
indymedia :

A banner have been put up in the the Bois Lejuc, in one of the trees
occupied in july 2019 (more info : Despite a special
law forbidding acces to the forest and the surveillance, we will
continue to happily wander in the forest, and even more.

Thanks for your amazing occupation and resistance !

Strength to you!”

The second one is from the Zad du Carnet, an occupation against a
industrial zone in the Western France :

Dann bleibt stark!
unser Widerstand hat gerade erst begonnen

ZAD du Carnet

PS. schickt uns bier”

And the last solidarity text and foto is from people of the west of
France :

” We are writing to you from the western part of france, in solidarity
with your struggle that is also ours.
We are sending this so you know that despite the distance that separate
us, we are with you.

State repression won’t keep us from fighting ! “

[5] Appearing in France in the early 2010s, the term was first popularized during the opposition to the airport construction project in Notre-Dame-des-Landes. [8] One of the movement’s first slogans was “ZAD everywhere” French: “Zad Partout” and though there are no official figures, in early 2016 La Gazette des Communes estimated there to have been at least a dozen ZADs across France since 2009.

  2. widalCaurb says:

They were concerned about a development plan which would build a prison and a landfill site. [38] A ZAD was occupied in Besançon in July 2020. [39] The ZAD du Carnet was occupied in late August in order to stop the preparatory works for the expansion of the port of Saint-Nazaire in the Loire-Atlantique department.

  3. widalCaurb says:

[52] There was a “windy week” in 2016, in which more cabins were built on the terrain of 7 hectares, with people coming to help out from other ZADs such as Bure, Roybon and the Susa Valley. As a way to slow down the progress of the project, 136 people became individual owners of plots over 3,300m² of land and thus would have to be bought out individually by RTE, a subsidiary of EDF Électricité de France.
